Breed : DALMATIAN

Many thanks to the Society for the Invitation, and to my two Stewards on the day. Overall the bitches far outweighed the Dogs for depth of quality. Several dogs were frankly dirty had long nails and dirty teeth, this is a beauty contes after all and Dalmatians are very easy to keep clean! Dally rash was quite prevalent in the males also which I can forgive in an otherwise typical specimen as hopefully this is a temporary setback. Another concern was colour, it was very difficult at times to determine whether they were Liver or Black. Many Livers are far too dark! Strangely enough most of these comments applied only to the males. All of that said Dalmatians featured well in the Groups, as the BOB was Group 2 as was the Puppy and the Special Beginners Group. SBD (11,2) 1 Richardson, & Richardson, Portunes St Jimmy At Exayeex JW Liver of 18 months, scores for balance and size good bone and feet, nice angulation to front and rear and very settled on the move. Would prefer a slightly darker eye. 2 Blackmore, Charismatic Caspar Of Morejinx Black youngster not quite the overall balance of the winner, that said attractive head and expression with dark eyes. Sufficient bone for size and used themselves well on the move out and back. 3 Clune, Wynne Barking Mad Domenica’s Dals (Imp Cz) MPD (6) 1 Grant, & Wilkins, Salvadorada Let’s Get Loud Masculine black developing along correct lines, liked his shoulders and overall front assembly body well covered with good ribbing and top line, steady on the move to clinch this class. 2 Clune, Wynne Barking Mad Domenica’s Dals (Imp Cz ) Not as forward in development as the winner, but has a good outline when stacked, liked his head and eye, nice neck and shoulder and well made quarters used himself well on the move. 3 Noble, Ruebedu Silence Of The Jams PD (8) 1 Croft, & Richardson, Mapplewell Rolex With Koroyza – RCC Very smart liver, correct colour and beautifully presented. Lovely head and eye nice ear set clean strong front with good bone and feet. Enough neck and well laid shoulder into correct top line and tailset. Body is firm and well made with good ribbing. Nicely angulated behind which he used well on the move with good drive and reach. 2 Grant, & Wilkins, Salvadorada Let’s Get Loud Repeat 3 Williams, & Tanswell, Carodal Welcome Way Via Waltzaway JD (5) 1 Page & Page, & Page, Winflash Tom Ford Strong upstanding black hope he has finished growing, strong but balanced head with lovely eyes. He is well made in front along with a deep body and firm top line maintained on the move. He moves with drive and precision but is something of a handful I suspect as at time on the stack he is inclined to, overreach in front. 2 Williams, & Tanswell, Carodal Welcome Way Via Waltzaway Very nicely spotted medium sized dog, attractive head and expression coupled with a firm well made body which was in good muscular tone. He moved well going away but was just a little untidy in front today. Overall a very smart dog. 3 Kaal, & Jones, Decoda’s Long John Silver Von Schunikka PGD (13,5) 1 Pearson, & Pearson, Kelevra Beam Me Up Biscotti Medium size black, love his head and expression nicely broken ear enough neck with excellent front bone and feet. His body is still a little raw and needs to come together, top line is good as is tailset. He has strong quarters reflected in his hind action which was one of the best on show today. He is not a great showman so needs to be handled, when he gets his act together and is fully mature in body he should finish well. 2 Alexander, Offordale Belvedere Very smart Liver in lovely condition, medium sized and scores for overall balance very good forehand with excellent shoulders. He has an attractive head and expression but not quite as soft as the winner. Good ribbing and topline with nice set on of tail. Well made quarters, he moves with good reach in front but a little close behind today. 3 Kaal, Schunikka Ifor Dream JW LD (14,1) 1 Green, & Sears, Shydally Golden Star Over Judally Ultra smart black built on elegant lines, lovely head with dark eyes, very nicely marked and looks great when stacked and in profile. Clean neck and shoulders with a strong well made body. Moved well here and looked the part on the go round. Just lost out in rear action in the Challenge. His day will come and should make up. 2 Crookes, & Crookes, & Crookes, Dalberry The Starburst Liver with lots to like, masculine head with soft expression he has good bone and feet but is a little wide in front, reflected in his movement. He is however very sound and looks like he could do the job. 3 Whincup, Tamilanda Vintage Gold Jw OD (12,1) 1 Page & Page, & Page, Ch Bleize De Montjuic At Winflash (imp Usa) – CC Rather a surprise for me as I’ve never particularly liked him from the ringside, he is very good to go over masculine yet elegant. Good balance in head if a little plain. First rate shoulders and clean neck leading onto a strong well made body with good depth and ribbing. First rate top line and tailset. Strong well made quarters which he uses so well on the move. This for me earned him the CC, looks like he can go all day. 2 Robbins, & Hensman, Ch Jasquarella Edge Of Winter At Palouse Liver boy excellent spotting and colour, a little squarer in outline than the winner but equally good in front and body properties. Showed good reach in front but not the drive behind of the winner. 3 Townson, & Pardoe, Ch Kaytoni Oh What A Night With Daymadals VD (3,1) 1 Hopkin, Ch Rapanooey Red Rose JW Two very nice Veteran dogs enjoying their day out and not dissimilar in most respects both still retain strong well made bodies, just felt the winner gave a little more on the move tyoday. 2 Williams, & Tanswell, Tolkain Storm King From Phadante Jw SBB (10,1) 1 Stubbins, & Stubbins, Perdita’s Bean A Stormy Ride JW Very smart black ultra feminine, and quite eye catching on the stack, she has a pretty head with dark eyes and lovely expression. Scores for balance with enough bone and good feet, she is well made in body and uses herself so well on the move. She will appeal to many and should do her fair share of winning. Pleased to see her win the SB Group. 2 Gill, Jemblewood Stork Of Solace Youngster so needing lots of time, lovely head and eye nicely broken ears. She is still rather raw but shows a lot of promise when she settled she showed she is ulktra sound and positive on the move. A little dark in colour. 3 French, Tamilanda Instant Sass MPB (8) 1 Nicholson, Diocletian Chizza Manzi For Dibynn More together than the others here but lots to like good head eye and expression, body needs to come together as is a little long at the moment for complete balance. She has an excellent top line and a clean easy stride on the move. 2 Smith, Dalamour’s Irish Rose At Spotamour (imp Ire) More compact the winner, but not quite the angulation to the rear, very nicely marked and balanced in body. Very sound on the move. 3 Newton, Salvadorada Light It Up For Chizzmic PB (9,1) 1 Smith, Dalamour’s Irish Rose At Spotamour (imp Ire) Repeat 2 Haywood-Ridgway, & Jenkins, Sammi Sophtspot With Style At Luccombe Slightly bigger right through than the winner and rather playing her handled up today I felt she could move better but didn’t want to cooperate. Lots to like and just needs to get her act together to feature. 3 Newton, Salvadorada Light It Up For Chizzmic JB (6) 1 Scott, & Scott, Sophtspot Whirlwind Recently judged this bitch and awarded her Best Puppy in Show, and havnt changed my high opinion of her. Just beginning to go through that awkward stage in terms of development so needs time to come back to form. She has great rear movement but can still settle a little in front. She will have a bright future when mature she was awarded Group 2. 2 Davies, Maddidalli True Loves Kiss JW Another very nice bitch out of a different mould as she is a little heavier right through, scores for bone and feet. Strong well made body developing well with good muscular tone and she uses herself well on the move. Looks good in profile. 3 Moss, & Page, & Page, Winflash Valentina PGB (13,3) 1 Townson, & Pardoe, Olilou Dancing Queen At Daymadals Black with plenty of substance good balance in head with dark eye and lovely expression. First rate forehand with enough bone and good feet. Good depth to body with excellent ribbing and firm top line strong quarters. She moved well particularly going away where she scored over the second. 2 Stocks, Sophtspot Sparkler At Nospar Another bitch I like very much and her presentation today was firs rate, living up to her name she sparkled. Ultra feminine with a lovely head and equally good in body particularly good top line and tail set. Just a little close behind today, her day will come. 3 Quayle, Cubalibre Star Attraction Jw LB (17,4) 1 Valentine, Dvojica Fizzy Pop A good win here as this was a strong class, this black is coming into her own as she matures bang on for size and balance, first rate front excellent neck and shoulders. Deep body with excellent quarters and such a good mover. Destined for higher things in my view 2 Collier, Kallierbelle Bluebelle Great overall balance here with a lovely head and eye, she is a little wide in front though moves very well and is ultra sound, another very well presented and handled to show of her many virtues. 3 Burrows, Shacarlu Bee Happy OB (12,6) Another strong class all worthy of top honours 1 An Den Eijnden, Bel Ch. Playful Spots Dancing Pink Magnolia Liver bitch out of the top drawer, bang on for size and balance. Beautiful head and eye, first rate front with enough bone and excellent feet. Good angulation to front and clean neck, leading into a firm well constructed body with good depth and ribbing. First rate topline and exceptional tail set. Flowed round the ring with reach and drive. Correct colour. I loved her CC and BOB. She looked fabulous in the Group where she was awarded Group 2. I do hope she returns and gains her UK title. 2 Whincup, Tamilanda Instant Star JW Another surprise for me as she has never taken my eye from the ringside, she needs to be handled to appreciate her virtues as there are many, lovely head and eye deep pigmentation good for bone. Body is strong and well made and she has excellent quarters. Not quite the freedom in movement of the winner. The type of bitch who I feel will be a good producer. RCC 3 Quayle, Ch Cubalibre Wishing Star JW VB (6,2) 1 Gardner, Ch Dvojica Chilli Chutney For Wrendragge JW A big winner and having handled her I can now see why, she is so correct in most areas, feminine yet with substance. Lovely head and eye excellent front and equally good behind. Not quite the drive of ultimate winners that said very close to top awards. 2 Burrows, Ch Ellemstra Tough Cookie At Shacarlu Black full of herself, another lovely head coupled with a strong well made body not quite the drive of the winner but a very typical Dalmatian. 3 Dawson, Washakie Endless Summer
